student using metateBosque Farms Elementary School recently celebrated Ag Days.

This year, several local farms, veterinary clinics, musicians, and more, set up various stations throughout the schools and classrooms to teach the students with hands-on activities.  Other groups participated, including the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish and Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Program (BEMP), which uses science to educate students about the Rio Grande watershed.

Outside the school, students had the opportunity to see an alpaca, learn that New Mexico is home to 500 species of bees, calf rope, and pet goats.  Some even tried fresh cow's milk with cookies.

Ag Days is an event that takes place at Bosque Farms Elementary every two years to teach the students about the importance of agriculture.
